Get involved with Urban Nature Tours in Ottawa, and discover nature in the hidden corners of the city’s neighborhoods.

In these free tours courtesy of Transition Ottawa, led by knowledgeable naturalists and field specialists, you can take an afternoon to slow down and see what’s always been right under your nose just down the street.

Learn about native plants, edible wilds, local wildlife, stream ecology, nut trees and more.Just make sure to dress for the weather!

The first tour in a monthly series this summer will be May 8 at 2:30 pm (in conjunction with Jane’s Walk Weekend) starting from Heron Park (Heron and Clover Street). The tour focus on common and safe non-toxic weeds and plants that have a long history of use as food and medicine.
