Natural Resources Canada Launches New Forest Fire Web Site

Every year, forest fires destroy millions of hectares of Canadian forest and affect the lives of many Canadians. To provide information about forest fire conditions across the country, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has launched a new Web site, http://fire.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca. The Web site includes daily fire maps from the Canadian Wildland Fire Information System, a weekly National Forest Fire Situation Report, facts about forest fires and extensive information about the fire research activities of NRCan's Canadian Forest Service (CFS).
