If you’ve got junky stuff and a scrappy spirit, make something new with something old and enter your project in Earth Day Canada’s 2011 Upcycling Challenge.
“Upcycling” is the very environmentally friendly practice of taking old or unused materials and turning them into something useful and of greater value.
The contest opened October 3 and runs until November 27, 2011. To enter, send a description of your project with step-by-step instructions, pictures, or a video tutorial to Earth Day Canada.
Prizes include a Panasonic cordless power tool, and exposure on the Earth Day Canada website. If participating as a class or school, you could win an excellent, active learning tool—a Panaboard electronic whiteboard.
