Ottawa – In this 3 hour workshop, June 19 at Kilborn Allotment Gardens in Ottawa, you can learn about common, safe, non-toxic weeds and plants that have a long history of use as food and medicine.
Workshop facilitators will discuss where and when to find specific plants, which parts of the plant to harvest as well as various preparation methods.
They’ll also cover the medicinal properties of the plants and how they can be easily used to nourish and soothe the body and treat common, minor ailments. You will have the opportunity to choose a plant and prepare an herbal preparation to take home.
A light snack and beverage will be served. Please dress appropriately for the weather, as this workshop will take place outside, light rain or shine.
