When we stumbled upon Flickr in early 2005, we were amazed that not only was it a great way to share photos with others but it is also pool together similar photos and connect with like-minded photographers from around the world. We knew that this service would be “gold” (so did Yahoo! as they purchased the company a few months later – see Wikipedia entry) and thus signed up and started our own Flickr group. We have seen some breath taking images, stunning vistas, and cool “every day” shots of people and community groups demonstrating how they are minimizing their impact on the environment.

Today, we have used Flickr to gather and show-off some of the best shared environment-related photos from across Canada. Our Flickr group address is at: http://www.flickr.com/groups/thegreenpages/ and already has well-established photographers like Christina Craft from Nature Stock Photography and Eyeline-Imagery, up-and-comers such as Ravenswift, and concerned citizens such as Stephen Rees and Rob Baxter as key contributors of the group.
We invite all Canadians and environmental groups to share your photos with us. Join our Flickr group and remember, always carry your camera with you and keep on snapping those photos.
