The Eco-Business Program is an initiative, launched June 1,1999 by the Eco-Efficiency Centre. The program is aimed at raising awareness on waste reduction, resource conservation, and the benefits of making the right environmental choices. The registered businesses are challenged to reduce the impact of their company while increasing profitability. The Eco-Business Program was created to engage companies on a longer term basis in continually improving their environmental performance. The Eco-Business Program is an excellent step for companies to take in moving towards the implementation of full environmental management systems, which are increasingly demanded in the marketplace.
