TORONTO, April 21 /CNW/ – Evergreen is awarding $105,000 in grants this
year to 21 local organizations across the country undertaking projects to
restore aquatic habitats through the Unilever-Evergreen Aquatic Stewardship
Grant Program. The grants support a broad range of activities such as planting
native trees and shrubs, controlling runoff and erosion, educating the public
and showcasing innovative new restoration techniques. Diverse local
partnerships involving community stewardship groups, local and senior
governments, school groups, universities, service clubs, arts organizations
and others drive these projects. More than 130 applications were received.
