Toronto Man Convicted of Offering for Sale Endangered Eskimo Curlew on the Internet

An Ontario man was convicted yesterday of
offering an endangered bird species for sale on an internet auction site.
William R. Jamieson pled guilty in the Ontario Court of Justice, Toronto, and
was convicted of a charge laid under the Migratory Birds Regulations of
illegally attempting to sell a mounted Eskimo curlew (Numenius borealis) on
eBay Canada. Mr. Jamieson was ordered to pay a fine of $3250.00.
