Lester Brown, founder of the Wordwatch Institute and the Earth Policy Institute was recently in Ottawa to meet with government officials and discuss his new book "Plan B: Rescuing a planet under stress and a civilization in trouble". He predicts a global grain shortage in the next two years, aggravated by drought, groundwater depletion, and desertification.
