OTTAWA, May 2, 2004 ? The Government of Canada announced today the appointment of a negotiator who will work with the Province of Nova Scotia to finalize a bilateral agreement to remediate the Sydney Tar Ponds. Alphonse Cormier, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property, Public Works and Government Services Canada will lead the final round of negotiations.
