On November 1st, 2002, the Canada Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB) announced that it had decided "not to proceed with a Call for Bids in December of 2002". This means that the areas adjacent to The Gully will not be granted petroleum exploration licenses immediately.
