Community Tree Plant in Halifax on May 28, 2016

Cole Harbour – Play a part in “greening” your local community by joining Honda Canada Foundation, Forest Recovery Canada, Clean Foundation, and the City of Halifax on Saturday, May 28th for the Community Planting Weekend. This half-day planting event brings together families, friends and community members for a chance to contribute to a meaningful project that offers environmental benefits for all Canadians! Participation helps build awareness around the importance of trees, which clean our air, improve our water, provide wildlife habitat, contribute to human health and provide a buffer against the effects of climate change.

Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Trailhead, 20 John Stewart Drive, Cole Harbour, NS B2W 4J8

What to Bring: To participate in this family-friendly event. Please dress for the weather, bring a shovel, gardening gloves and lots of energy!

What We Will Bring: We will supply the rest – the trees, forestry specialists, mulch and snacks. Some shovels will be provided.

Parking: Parking available at Colonel John Stuart Elementary School
