Forests Ontario’s report A Healthy Dose of Green: A prescription for a healthy population compiles scientific evidence illustrating the connection between forests and human health, both mental and physical. Conversely, poor environmental conditions contribute to the risk factors for a wide array of health issues, including cardiovascular disease, respiratory conditions, diabetes, cancer, heat-related illnesses, attention deficit disorders and chronic stress. Join Shelley McKay, Director of Communications & Marketing for Forests Ontario as she speaks about how tree planting across Ontario can reduce the long term health care costs and increase the health, well-being and productivity of current and future generations of Canadians.
