Plant a tree in honour of those who have served on November 8th –from 9am-12pm at Oshawa’s Lakefront West Park, 1221 Phillip Murray Ave. (across from Skae Dr.), the site of former WWII Camp X.
This Remembrance Day tree planting event brings together veterans, military personnel, families, community members and volunteers to take part in a half-day tree planting activity, promoting local engagement and environmental awareness.
This family-friendly event offers participants the chance to honour those who’ve served, directly support their community in a local reforestation project and learn about the benefits of trees, shade and green urban spaces.
The event is held rain or shine and participants are asked to bring a shovel, bucket, water bottle, gardening gloves and a lot of energy! The Region of Durham, City of Oshawa, Forests Ontario and Trees For Life will supply the rest – the trees, forestry specialists, mulch and refreshments.
Please dress according to the weather.
