Monthly Sunday Afternoon Urban Nature Tours in Ottawa’s neighborhoods
Discover hidden corners of our neighborhoods and become acquainted with the wonders of nature in the city.
As we rush around in our busy lives, we may be unaware of the wondrous variety of flora and fauna in the city. Take an afternoon to slow down and see what is right down the street, in an empty lot or even in our backyards. Learn how interconnected we are to many of the urban dwellers with no fixed address and appreciate all the bounty that can be found growing right under our noses!
Transition Ottawa has invited knowledgeable naturalists and field specialists to lead tours in the city. Learn about native plants, edible wilds, local wildlife, stream ecology, nut trees and more! Join us at the monthly specified location.
Dress for the weather and if noted be prepared for rough and/or muddy terrain.
Tours will be 60 to 90 minutes with some time at the end for games, discussion and/or refreshments. Tours are free of charge.
Details on individual tours can be found in the left hand column.
All ages welcome (unless otherwise noted).
Organized by Transition Ottawa’s Incubator Group.
