STUDENTS IN NATURE. Elementary students are invited to celebrate David Suzuki’s 75th birthday by getting outside. Participating schools will be sent a lesson plan that encourages students to take a “walkabout” in their schoolyard to observe nature. On 30 March, students will have a chance to hear Dr. Suzuki speak. Limited to 100 schools.

STORMWATER. Recent research shows that the kind of densities required for walkable urbanism may translate into less of a pollutant load, on a per capita basis, than that from an equivalent population at lower, suburban densities, and therefore less of a total pollutant load for a given population.
