Althought it is illegal to hunt spirit bears in B.C., there is no ban on hunting black bears – leading some to wonder if the shooting of bears in the Great Bear Rainforest should be restricted to those with cameras.
The Great Bear Rainforest is a primal rainforest of towering red cedars, where eagles soar above the treetops and rivers teem with wild salmon. The kermode, or spirit bear, where there are only about 200 in the world, virutally all live in this region.
