Catching the Spirit (CtS) celebrates ten years! Come challenge your leadership styles while connecting with the environment & Metro Vancouver Regional Parks this summer. We are Run by Youth for Youth, which means that we need you. Register now at

Calling All Peer Leaders! You In?

Ready for an extra challenge? Ready to lead your peers, aged 12 to 18, in a rewarding summer experience? Then we need you to apply! CtS is now calling youth aged 15 to 18 to apply as Peer Leaders. Challenge your leadership skills and outdoor savvy or dare them to new heights.

So, what does a Peer Leader do anyway?

  • We need you to inspire & deliver the CtS Program to your peers, rain or shine. Your ideas & energy are what fuel us
  • We need you to love the outdoors and like to camp. It’s all about being outside
  • We need your positive outlook, dedication, and desire to take on a challenge. It’s not always easy, but we know you can do it
  • We need you to help us plan activities, make menu plans and keep us on track. You are
    the leaders after all
  • We need you to take ownership of CtS and have fun this summer!

Peer Leaders are asked to help shape and deliver the CtS program with the help of great supervisors, and are asked to participate for a minimum of 100 hours throughout the summer.

What else is in it for you?

  • You get to be a big part of the Leadership Team that runs CtS
  • You’ll receive leadership and outdoor training
  • You get First Aid certification (Have it already? Great!)
  • You’ll receive community volunteer hours and exposure to career & park opportunities
  • You even get to trade in 100 volunteer hours for a scholarship at the end of it all
  • Best part? You get to hang out with your buddies, new and old, and have fun!

Interested and up for the challenge? Email Natalie Haltrich at info@catchingthespirit.com or call her at 604.562.0583 to receive an application form, and if you are between 12 and 18 and would like to join as a participant, let Natalie know and she will send you the Registration Package. Catching the Spirit is free thanks to our many wonderful sponsors and supporters! More information can be found at www.catchingthespirit.com.

Hope to see you this summer!
