It’s a free resource and membership is open to sustainability indicator and practitioners, whether you are in Canada or elsewhere on the planet. Already, the network has close to 1,000 members.
The website is an invaluable tool for advancing sustainability and supplementing your own research. There’s extensive data on methods and sharing of technical and practical approaches. Virtual workshops and learning events are held regularly.
The Winnipeg-based CSIN is hosting its second annual national conference at Toronto’s Ryerson University March 2-5, 2010. The conference theme is “Accountability Through Measurement” and it will focus on the challenges of achieving “progress toward social, economic and environmental sustainability.”
Guest speakers include Scott Vaughan, Canada’s Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development, and Johanne Gelinas, leader of Deloitte Canada’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Group.
The conference is geared to professionals, sustainable development practitioners, public sector, private sector and non-profit sector directors and CEOs, as well as decision-makers and strategic planners.
