Wildlife adapting to urban life, or urbanites respecting wildlife? Possibly both.
Three eaglets are a rarity, as the Hancock Wildlife Foundation would concur given the birth of triplets in Sidney, B.C., near Victoria, last April (see live videocam through May).
Those born, however, successfully at an industrial site in the city of Vancouver is a bit of an eyebrow raiser. The two parent bald eagles were uncharacteristically resilient to industrial noise and activity.
However, Stanley Park Ecology Society partnered with Lafarge Canada to preserve the nesting tree which is located on the property of the company’s concrete plant, currently undergoing continuous construction.
Lafarge is contemplating a live cam.
