Fair Trade Towns Campaign
FAIR TRADE ACTIVIST, HERE IS A NEW CHALLENGE FOR YOU: MAKE YOUR TOWN A FAIR TRADE TOWN!
To become a Fair Trade Town, a community must attain a list of six
goals; these goals encourage access to Fair Trade Certified products in
the community, as well as increasing education and public awareness on
the issue of Fair Trade. Apart from the municipal resolution, the other
goals include: the availability of Fair Trade Certified products in
shops and cafés, the support of local workplaces, faith-based groups,
schools and other local groups, a demonstrated interest by the media
and general public, the creation of a steering committee and the
promotion of ethical and sustainable consumption.
