Lichenology: Thinking about policy, language, community, art…and lichen

At the beginning of this year, Zane Parker moved to 10 acres of land in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Together with his family, they are trying to build a sustainable and more self-reliant life there–this includes our water systems, waste management, food, and building. They are currently working on two small earthen buildings…
Zane documents this process along with his thoughts on life and environmental and economic policy on his blog, at http://lichenology.blogspot.com.
(we wish you all the best Zane!)
