This book is aimed very clearly at municipal practitioners and will be of use to locally oriented sustainability activists as well. The origins of the book lie in the pioneering efforts in Sweden to create eco-municipalities using the Natural Step system, but it includes a very large number of North American initiatives as well. The book is very good in terms of providing specific positive examples of not just what is possible, but what has in fact been done in waste management, renewable energy, ecological housing, green business, ecological schools, sustainable agriculture, and sustainable land use.
