Imperial defends bird sanctuary development plan

Imperial Oil was questioned Thursday about its plan to build an airstrip in a bird sanctuary in the Mackenzie Delta, as part of the development of the Mackenzie Valley Gas project. The National Energy Board hearings underway in Inuvik heard Imperial wants to develop wells and roads, as well as build a camp and airstrip in the Kendall Island Bird Sanctuary. – CBC
