First Nations’ Centre of Environmental Excellence

CIER is leading the development of a national First Nations' Centre of Environmental Excellence (FNCoEE) which will be able to serve as a national environmental research, education, and advisory institution for First Nations. One of the main components of this exploratory work includes a dialogue with interested First Nations and non-First Nations to assist with determining what the FNCoEE would look like, what community needs are, and what it would do. The actual roles and activities that the FNCoEE would engage in depend on what we hear through the dialogue with First Nations. The goal is to develop an institution that engages in comprehensive, high-level research and other activities, as identified and prioritized though the First Nation dialogue, and driven by community needs
