Cleanup bill prompts call for new mine rules

The federal government now has a newer – and larger – estimate of how
much it will cost to close and clean up the Cantung mine. Indian and Northern
Affairs released a report recently that says it will cost $48
million, rather than the $34 million estimated last fall.
