VANCOUVER – The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – BC Chapter is thrilled with today’s national parks announcement from the federal and provincial governments. “The Gulf Islands National Park Reserve is a jewel in the national park system,” said Bob Peart, Executive Director of CPAWS-BC. “We are particularly pleased to see a national park created in southern Canada where habitat fragmentation from development pressures is limiting the options for conservation.”
