CPAWS-Yukon joins Justin Trudeau and dozens of prominent Canadians in cross-Canada boreal forest river journeys

Whitehorse, Yukon – And they’re off! More than 25 prominent Canadians are showing their support for the Boreal Rendezvous, a summer-long series of river expeditions, performances and events to highlight the ecological and cultural values of Canada’s threatened boreal forest. The Boreal Rendezvous river trips were launched on July 21, 2003, just two days ago, by Justin Trudeau on the Nahanni River – made famous by his father Pierre Trudeau when he directed his government in 1976 to protect the area as a national park. Four of the ten river trips are in the Yukon.
