The Young Naturalists' Club of British Columbia was initiated by the Vancouver Natural History Society in March 2000. Membership is open to young people throughout the province. Activities which are informative, inspiring and fun encourage children from 7 years to early teens to develop a love of nature and a feeling of respect and responsibility for the unique ecosystems, flora and fauna of British Columbia. The Young Naturalists' Club of British Columbia is modeled on the youth program of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, UK, which has been running successfully for over 30 years. The RSPB is Europe's largest conservation charity with close to a million members.
