The Case Against Overhead Pesticide Spraying in The Townsite of Waskesiu Lake, Prince Albert National Park

In October of 2002, Parks Canada announced that it will include selective use of
Bacillus thuringensis var. kurstaki (BtK) pesticide to reduce the impact of the spruce
budworm within the townsite of Waskesiu, Prince Albert National Park (PANP).
A new report released by the Saskatchewan Environmental Society in
conjunction with the permanent residents of Waskesiu Lake provide strong
evidence against pesticide spaying in PANP.
