Proposed dam on Canada’s Prairies deemed too costly

WINNIPEG – Alberta and Saskatchewan scrapped plans this week for a multibillion-dollar dam to help alleviate water shortages in the western Canadian provinces, saying the costs would outweigh the benefits.
