The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society today expressed concern that the Gatineau Park is threatened by a disrespect for the park's own management plans. The National Capital Commission (NCC) Gatineau Park Sector Plan, approved in June 1999 and released in 2000, is already undergoing a change by the National Capital Commission to allow for construction of a road from the Parkway to Mackenzie King Estate. An environmental assessment study has been prepared regarding this road and will be open for review tonight in Chelsea.
