SIMCOE __ On July 26, 2001, Nexans Canada Inc. formerly known as Alcatel Canada Inc. pleaded guilty to discharging a lubricant into the Lynn River which impaired the water quality. The company was fined $25,000 for an offence under section 30 (1) of the Ontario Water Resources Act.
