Neptis Foundation – The Architecture of Urban Regions

A Canadian operating foundation based in Toronto, Ontario, Neptis was established in 1996 by Martha Jean Shuttleworth to foster knowledge and ideas on how urban regions function and grow, and how they might be improved. The foundation was expanded in 1998 by a substantial contribution from the former Richard and Jean Ivey Fund. Neptis aims to gather reliable information on regional urban growth, and to make it accessible to wide audiences. It seeks to provide, through scholarship, credible bases for public discussion and decisions on regional urban issues, particularly where they have been absent or inadequate. In so doing, Neptis contributes to more prudent, productive and exhilarating urban development.
