OTTAWA, July 31, 2001 ? The Government of Canada is proposing new regulations to significantly reduce pollution entering waterways from metal mines across Canada. The draft regulations under the Federal Fisheries Act will require all metal mines in Canada to meet stringent new national environmental standards.
