Fashion High member Katherine Soucie, designer of Sans Soucie, is
racking up the awards. The latest in a list of accolades is a first place
finish in the fashion category at the Design Green Project for 2008. Sans
Soucie’s Lace Series was the only Canadian winner among entries from
around the globe.
The Lace Series is a collection of four dresses that were produced for
Sans Soucie’s fall 2007 collection. Inspired by nature, music, history,
and architecture, the dresses are hand dyed and printed on reclaimed nylon
hosiery that was sewn into yardage before being made into the one of a kind
garment. The use of low impact dyes and printing inks as well fabrics such as
bamboo, soy, and organic cotton make the line almost 100% sustainable.
