Environmentalists and critics say the provincial Liberal government has, with the stroke of a pen, destroyed a piece of the Niagara Escarpment for centuries to come by approving a controversial quarry expansion.
And they said yesterday the government has lost whatever credibility it had on environmental protection by siding with Dufferin Aggregates, operator of one of the largest quarries in Canada
