Canada’s Greenest Home is a project of the Endeavour Centre, a not-for-profit sustainable building school in Peterborough. This house set the very ambitious goal of being the first home to be certified to the Living Building Challenge, as well as meeting LEED Platinum standards.
The materials for the home were all chosen to be local (200km radius), low in embodied energy and non-toxic. The home is designed to have net zero energy and net zero water usage.
