Brief Event Description:
An exciting hands-on workshop where you will learn about Solar Thermal technology by assembling two working miniature solar thermal collectors. A solar technology professional will guide you through the activity and explain the components and working of a solar thermal system up close.
After the hands-on activity, participants will learn how the full-sized solar system on the roof of the REEP House for Sustainable Living will be tied into the heating system of the building. This event is recommended for adults and youth ages 16 and older.
Workshop includes:
•Overview of the components and workings of a solar thermal system taught by a solar thermal professional
•Hands-on activity for participants to assemble a working model of a solar thermal collector
•Tour of the basement of REEP House to learn how our solar thermal installation will tie-in to our heating system
