Owls wear a cloak of mystery with their uncanny ability to hunt in the dark and fly without making a sound. Meet live owls, and investigate their unique nocturnal adaptations at the Richmond Nature Park on Sunday, March 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Live owls will be presented by educators from the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (O.W.L.), which specializes in the rehabilitation of injured or orphaned birds of prey.
A representative of Environment Canada, who is involved in the Urban Owl Conservation Project, will be at Sunday’s event. You will learn where barn owls live in Richmond, how they are tracked at night and what is being done to preserve barn owl habitat.
