Environmental Stewardship Assistant – City of Surrey Environmental Programs

Surrey – Get outside this summer to protect Surrey’s natural areas and interact with your community! The Eco Ranger Team of volunteers provides parks visitors with more meaningful experiences by sharing information about the ecology of our natural area parks.

Eco Rangers walk park trails and interact with park visitors about natural areas, host interactive displays, and encourage stewardship and responsible park use. Their work helps promote a fun and educational environment for visitors, and healthy habitats for wildlife.

Volunteering with the Eco Rangers Team will allow you to improve your public speaking and environmental interpretation skills, gain experience working with a diverse community, and build your resume by developing job related skills. If you care about Surrey’s natural areas, sign up to be an Eco Ranger!

No experience necessary. Volunteers will receive training on local ecology. Training sessions begin in May and volunteers are active in a variety of Surrey’s natural area parks from May to September. Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old, fluent in English (second language an asset), with an interest in nature and a willingness to learn.
