From banning the purchase of single-use plastic water bottles on campus, to creating a carbon neutral community or growing ecologically friendly hemp crops as a business venture, Earth Day Canada is recognizing Canada’s environmental heroes.
This is a last call to nominate an individual, group or small business in your community who create positive environmental change at the local level. Does this remind you of a classmate, co-worker, a local conservation group, or a toxic-free company in your hometown?
If so, nominate (or self-nominate) your local hero by March 30, 2012!
Earth Day Canada’s Hometown Heroes Award Program recognizes everyday heroes for their extraordinary work in creating greener communities across Canada. Established in 2004, the program recognizes and celebrates environmental leaders, groups, organizations and small businesses who foster meaningful, long–term community awareness and action.
