Building on the 2009 launch of the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED), a ground-breaking program that integrates environment, business and development education, the University of Waterloo’s Faculty of Environment is hosting a provocative symposium on progress made toward global sustainability since the 1992 UN Rio Declaration.

The event will be held on Thursday November 3 at UW’s Federation Hall. Visit the event webpage to learn more and to register online.

The keynote speaker will be The Honorable Elizabeth Thompson, Executive Coordinator for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio + 20) and UN Assistant Secretary-General. A panel discussion will follow, including questions from the audience.

Panelists:
Elizabeth Thompson, United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development
Daniel Gagnier, International Institute of Sustainable Development
David McLaughlin, National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy
Frances Westley, JW McConnell Chair in Social Innovation, University of Waterloo
