For anyone who is unacquainted with the organization, Green Drinks International got its start in the UK by Edwin Datschefski, some of his colleagues, and environmentally-minded acquaintances. Datschefski, who specializes in sustainable product design, created the official website in 2001 — blossoming into almost 600 chapters worldwide.
People come from all walks of life, from environment groups, business, government, academia and as individuals. Although the general rule is that there is no formal agenda, being “green” eases you into the group naturally. Each Green Drinks chapter has its own “personality”, so if you live/work in one city but you’re close to another city/suburb, you might want to check out other chapters.
