Weather Extremes, Climate Change

Still puzzled by the uncommon weather extremes in B.C.?

This Summer’s 3-month stretch of sunny, hot weather peaking at 34 degrees Celsius by the ocean and 40+ degrees inland, accompanied by wildfires in the Okanagan, are due to climate change. And the freak Winter storm of 2008, dumping several feet of snow? Climate change. How about the rainstorms that drenched you within 5 seconds back in the Winter of 2006? Yes, climate change.

Assignment Earth together with the National Wildlife Association shows us what’s to come and why. Water will be the next commodity in short supply:

Assignment Earth produces compelling video reports to inform and educate viewers on critical environmental issues of our time, to stimulate other reporters to cover the same stories, and to energize public debate. Many of the non-profit’s half-hour reports are playing on PBS TV stations, Yahoo! News, and NBC News.
