OTTAWA, Ontario – The Ottawa Go Green Expo, presented by Toyota Canada Inc, has exceeded expectations for its debut and is pleased to announce that over 15,000 attendees visited the premiere event, delivering a positive sign that the people of Ottawa want to go green.
Consumers found the event to be an excellent opportunity to get educated on the choices they can make to encourage green living. The consumer feedback on how passionate the exhibitors were and that they really care about the environment was extremely positive. Most people just didn’t know that they have choices. Customers were also amazed at the calibre of vendors that participated in the show.
Likewise, we have had similar feedback from an exhibitor perspective. Kim Michaud owner of the Green Moose Boutique had this to say about her experience at the show, “I would like to thank you for a very professionally run Go Green Expo. I was amazed at the turnout. I never expected to have a lineup of people ready to purchase all weekend. It was and has always been a pleasure to be at your events.” Diana Livshits from Krumpers Solar Solutions followed that with these comments, “The Go Green Expo in Ottawa is a superb event that brings full circle the consumers and vendors that provide environmentally responsible products, with ease of access to aware consumers and conscious vendors. Great Job and see you next year.“
The event was a great balance of shopping with relevant speakers and interactivity — aiming to teach consumers how to green their business, their home, and their families. On the Go Green Centre stage, it was standing room only for MP Justin Trudeau and Severn Cullis-Suzuki. Both amazing speakers gave meaningful talks on how easy it is to go green and why everyone should strive to do so. The Green Activities Kids Zone was filled with families learning and playing together. The Toyota and Lexus test drive area was packed with curious drivers throughout the show, eager to learn about hybrid technology. Aisles were jammed all weekend with consumers as the event proved to offer a fun-filled, educational atmosphere with people ready to taste, touch and try-on everything that’s earth friendly; and not be afraid of it.
The media coverage reached epic proportions with stories and photos published in all major Ottawa newspapers and across Canada. Live broadcasts from TV and radio also took place picking up stories on the show, its speakers and its success, driving the strong attendance for the weekend.
The show has announced the dates for 2010, with the Ottawa Go Green Expo taking place March 20-21 at Lansdowne Park. The Calgary Go Green Expo will debut March 27-28, 2010 at the Round Up Centre.
