DreamRider Theatre’s Climate Change Play

Check out Vancouver’s DreamRider Theatre, as they perform “Keep Cool!” – their new show about climate change. The theatre group is traveling throughout 80 Vancouver Lower Mainland elementary schools until January 19.

DreamRider also has a fun online contest for kids, designed to teach students how to reduce their carbon footprint. The contest shows kids how they can walk or bike instead of riding in a car or turn off lights and computers if they’re not using them. The site then calculates the reduction in greenhouse gas emmissions with each question answered.

So far, over 2,300 kids have gone online and pledged to reduce over 6,400 tonnes of greenhouse gases.

DreamRider would like to encourage Lower Mainland Vancouver elementary students to enter to win $1,000 for their school’s Arts Programs.

Deadline is January 30, 2009.
