‘Do What You Can’ to prevent waste

January 24, 2009 – Do you have random paint cans and batteries collecting dust somewhere in your closet? Ever wonder how to safely get rid of that stuff?

In Ontario, look no further than the ‘Do What You Can‘ program initiated by Stewardship Ontario.  The plan is divert as much hazardous waste as possible from landfill sites, by making it far easier for Ontarians to deal with those nasty items that never seem to go away.

The project involves municipalities and leading retailers throughout the province, such as Home Depot, Rona and Jiffy Lube, who have agreed to take these products back from their customers in convenient locations.
