July 9, 2008 – We’re absolutely delighted to announce that G.A.P Adventures was voted as #1 Adventure Tour Operator by more than 3,500 Canadian Travel Agents in the 2008 Agents’ Choice Awards.
G.A.P Adventures won the top spot in each region in order to place first in the Adventure Tour Operator category, beating out the second place finisher by more than 1,700 votes.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized – both as the #1 Adventure Tour Operator and also as one of the top Environmentally Friendly Companies,” said G.A.P Adventures CEO Bruce Poon Tip. “This honour really demonstrates our travel agents’ confidence in G.A.P Adventures and on behalf of our entire team, I would like to thank all of the travel agents in Canada who took the time to vote for us.”
Tom Bellamy of Carlson Wagonlit Travel in Regina was quoted in Travel Courier as saying that G.A.P Adventures provides “really excellent service.” And that “they go to the places that other tour operators don’t.”
Voting took place in February-March 2008 in Canadian Travel Press, Travel Courier and online at PressToday.com. The survey is the largest sampling of its kind in Canada.
