In a Toronto school last week, Ontario Minister
of Health
Promotion
Margaret Best presented a Guinness World
Record
certificate to Green Communities
Canada
, recognizing our record-breaking walk on 3 October 2007.
World Record Walk
organizer Harry Sawchuk accepted the certificate on behalf of Green
Communities. 231,635 Canadians smashed the existing record of
100,915 set in 2006 by Western Australia. Pending funding, the next
walk is scheduled for October 2010.
